Paul W. Misch, M.D.

Chair of Family Medicine and Community Health

Paul W. Misch, M.D. obtained his undergraduate degree from Oakland University and his medical degree from Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine. His Family Medicine residency training was obtained at William Beaumont Hospital where he served as Chief Resident during his senior year. Upon completion of his residency training, Dr. Misch joined the faculty of the William Beaumont Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program.

Dr. Misch took a year-long sabbatical from his faculty position to complete a fellowship in administration and faculty development at Duke University. He returned to Beaumont as the Medical Director of the Family Medicine Center and Associate Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program. In 1992 Dr. Misch was appointed Residency Director and Chair of Family Medicine. Dr. Misch was subsequently, selected to participate in the National Institute for Program Director Development fellowship program. He served as Residency Director for 14 years and distinguished himself in the area of faculty development by serving as a member of the faculty for Duke University’s nationally recognized faculty development workshops.
